Internal Transvaginal scanning from 6 weeks.
Our Early Pregnancy Scan is designed to support scanning from 6 weeks however please note attending a scan before 8 weeks will often mean an internal (Transvaginal) scan being required for us to see anything on the day. If you’d prefer an abdominal (stomach) scan we recommend attending after 8 weeks.
Rescan Policy
Please note, if you are less than 6 weeks and the scan is inconclusive we will offer a rescan at a reduced price of £35.
Upgrades:
Digital download of all images (£10)
Digital download of scan video (£15)
Double sided keyring (£10)
Additional prints (£5 each)
Please note:
We are only able to provide scans to persons over the age of 18.
We are a non-diagnostic service. This early pregnancy reassurance scan should not replace any of your routine NHS scans as this is purely for non-diagnostic purposes. Please note, we cannot rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
Our guest policy is mum-to-be plus 6 guests to attend scans. Guests can be adult or children so long as it is only 6 guests with mum-to-be in total.
You must still attend your routine scanswith the NHS.
Preparing for your early scan
You can prepare for your Early scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive with a full bladder.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork.
It is sometimes necessary during the earlier stages of pregnancy to offer an internal scan. This is because it can be difficult to see the fetus via the abdomen at this stage. Many factors influence this (including hydration). Please ensure you arrive for your scan with a full bladder. As with all of our scans, you have the right to refuse or stop the procedure at any time.
Additional images, digital downloads of your scan images and a variety of products are available at Scan Baby to purchase on the day.
